alloy wheel upgrade
Hi, New to the forum so please excuse if this topic has been touched on many times before. I have recently purchased a 2016 mk4 swab caddy the highline model. It can with standard 15โ alloys. They look lille small on the van. I do not want to put big wheels on but was thinking 17โ would look better. I have searched and looked at fleecy and seen many that look ok. I just want to know your thoughts and what VW/Audi/Or any others that will be a straight swap without any adaptations. I am aware that the stud pattern needs to be 5x112 and the centre hub and offset confuse me and what options i have without adaptations
Thank you in advance

I also have a mrk4 highline with 15ins I am upgrading to 18s to allow for bigger brakes. You can fit any off the vag range wheels on your van.

Re: alloy wheel upgrade
Got a caddy mk4 now and Iโm putting 17โ alloys on soon. They some aftermarket alloys from a golf mk5.
The caddy is on 16โ Vw standard alloys.
If I was to uprate to big brake callipers, could anyone tell me plz would either of these sets of wheels fit?

Iโve been speaking to my local garage about big brakes and rim sizes.Smashplant wrote:Got a caddy mk4 now and Iโm putting 17โ alloys on soon. They some aftermarket alloys from a golf mk5.

They said that different rims will have different clearance for callipers. They said that even some 18โ rims will not give enough clearance for big brake callipers so I think 17โ rims will definitely be too small.
I would have preferred to go for 17โ rims personally so that I can avoid fitting low-profile tyres. I think there is a bit of scope to slightly increase the overall outer diameter, but Iโm not sure. Ideally you still want to allow for room to lower it, around 50-60mm?

Re: alloy wheel upgrade
Hey jackel, Caddy V does use slightly larger tires in diameter doesn't it? Is the speedo still fine as you say and no problems with tire clearances?
On willtheyfit.com it states that with Caddy V 215/55 R17 wheels the speedo will read 4.5% lower compared to 205/50 R17 on Caddy IV.
I would like to mount larger wheels but IDK what to do with speedo then, since it must not under-read

Never really planned to mod my Caddy until I found this forum
