Yes my understanding is that the VW OEM ones are prone to leaks. The question has to be after how many years and can they be fixed.

The windows I have are from Camper Glass.
The place I got them fitted bought them from there.

I'm not sure I would get them again. The opening window has a big recess and is very basic.

Though that might be an advantage from a leak proof point of view.

Though windows do transform the van and makes seeing as you pull away at junctions so much easier.

Finally finished the kitchen units.
Taken more time than I expected and lots of details needed to be considered to get right. Both units are removable in minutes as I planned.

More detail photos to follow.

Detail inside the induction hob cabinet showing the reverse of the tambour door and box that holds the hob with vent holes. The wire that runs to the right connects to the sink unit to power the water pump. The two 3 pin plugs are for the hob and front socket. The 12v terminates at the cigarette plug. These plugs go into the sockets fitted to the van that runs under the step into the passenger footwell.

I was always going to fit an induction hob instead of a gas hob. They are a really safe way to cook inside a van. The Vango Sizzle has a peak demand of 700 watts which means I can power it with a mid-priced power station.
At this stage I'm going to run everything off the power station and see how many days I can go for. There is always the option of a leisure battery with B2B charger if needed as the wiring is already in place.

I really like the fastening of the kitchen units! Looks really easy to get in and out. I am genuinelly impressed with the ingenuity of it. Makes me think of different solutions than initially had in mind.

Couple more details of how the cabinets lock into the floor.

These are over centre catches with a J bolt.

I bought the sink off eBay. It turns out that some enterprising person is modifying catering containers and adding a drain to the bottom. The benefit are very small sinks but the water pools a bit as the base does not slope. So I have used a great gun to improve that a bit but the plastic is very resistant to heat.

Induction hob is a Vango Sizzle. This is the lowest powered induction hob available at the moment but works really well and most mid priced power banks (mine is a Bluetti PS72 eBay special that cost £290) with inverters can power it. I cut a profile out on a laser cutter and used a profile router to trim the worktop to the right size.

Details of the fresh and waste water. These are 5L but will be enough for a weekend camping.

Front of Tambour door. Really pleased with how this turned out

Can't take credit for the idea. We had a van with a Unwin type rail floor that used this method to fix the furniture to the floor.

Works really well. Furniture is rock solid and easy to remove

Great build! Going to be stealing a few ideas for my own build, love the modularity.

Looks very spiff -- definitely adding to my mental list of micro camper inspirations.
