You likely have a blown fuse or faulty instrument cluster.
With the ignition off, if you open the door, does the interior light come on and a display on the instrument cluster?
How about if you active the hazard lights without a key in the ignition?

interior light comes on when opening the door but nothing on the instruments and the hazard works as it should
it was the same on the previous cluster
i will have to have a look for a fuse layout and check
thanks

With the hazards active and ignition off, do they show on the instrument cluster?

Ok, in that case your instrument cluster has either lost its power supply direct from the battery or there is an internal fault.

It's most likely a 5A in the engine bay fuse panel, rear left corner if you are sat in the driver's seat.
