Hi everyone
So im at my whits end, I bought my 1.6 caddy maxi 6 months ago and the oil pressure warning light started coming on 2 months ago.
So checked with a reader at garage no faults logged
Does sometimes when cold and warmed up
Recently had an oil pressure test done and appently its reading 0.2 to 0.3 bar when idle (vw specialist )
Getting a second oil pressure test done next week.
Garage said its probably bearings going.
Prior to this id changed
So ive changed oil pressure sensor
Oil pump (was on its way out when inspected)
Stainer was clean
It didn't come back on for 2 days then it did going up and down hills
No metal in sump or oil filter
Ran for a month with pressure light going on and off
Oil cooler failed so replaced
Dropped oil to put thicker oil in few days ago the oil had been in 3 weeks had no metal at all in it.
So my question is the engine sounds fine it excelerates when light comes on its not knocking its arse off.
I was advise to run thicker oil with the bearings going but its still going off.
Is there anything I can door repair or do I just get a replacement engine
Any help would be great. Thanks
