My Caddy Maxi Van

Post by SimonB »

A few pics of my Caddy Maxi Van I picked up on Friday. Plans are to use as a small camper / work van for my new business, whilst also filling the gap of a daily driver, as I P/X'd my car for it!!

And onto this weekends mods....

Pioneer AVH4400BT fitted

Silvatec bulbs fitted up front that came out of my Mini...

Then today was spent starting with lining out the van. Removed the ply lining and fitted 2mm Silent Coat deadening sheets, along with a 11mm wool/felt mix underlay, topped with 7mm Closed cell foam lining. Hopefully should make the van nice and quiet :)

Some finishing off to do before the panels go back, but getting there slowly. Progress will be slow until I get a buyer for my bike, but then it will be full steam ahead :D

Few more mods planned. I've ordered the rock and roll bed from Dave at Cannons Forge, and it's booked in at Reflex Auto Design next week for windows in the sliding doors and lowering!

Still need to sort my wheels out - question is, silver or black. I'd decided on black, but the wheels I want are out of stock everywhere til early August - and I really want to get some on ASAP!

I had planned on 3SDM 0.01's in black - do I wait, or just get silver, or I could go for some BBS CH reps in black....any other suggestions for wheels?! :)

I have been thinking about a new van, and I would have chosen this same colour. And I would have gone the 3SDM route too! If you go for the black wheels, you'll have that stealthy look, and it'll maybe be a bit less in your face. But then I saw Gleam's van (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4871&hilit=3SDM&start=15) and think that the silver 3SDMs could look very very nice indeed
