Egulds's 2007 caddy

Post by egulds »

I had a post at the new member section but its time to make my own thread here..

I bought my caddy in february with a few dings and dents but according to the seller it was in mint body condition but that was a small lie :P
Mounted the coilovers and 20" ASA sh1 in march and it rides very well on them, there is always cravings for new wheels and I got a quote for a set of 8,5x19" Rota grid that I will buy this winter.
In july I was up at my mountain cabin when I heard a big bang outside, there was like 15 cows (the one who say moooo) running like crazy away from my car, sadly the trail was a bit narrow near my car and my left front wing looked like this afterwards.
Image

This was kinda boring and the farmer who owns the running beef did not take any responsebility so I had to fix it myself.

Image

Its painted a "couple" of times earlier, the whole car had 3-5 layers so I didnt use so much bondo :P

Primed and parked in my heated garage.

"new" used wing fitted, already painted the inside parts.

Filled the VW logo gap with led

Some more primer...

Finished and painted, need to fit the mouldings and new right mirror.
Also fitted the rail cover with the bracket supplied by Reflex autodesign and a seat cupra R front lip

Its not perfect but its great for a workvan, might do a full respray again when I facelift it next summer :)

Are you hosting your pictures on a site like photobucket etc? If not that's what you need to do. The. Copy and paste the address of the photo and put it inside img tag. If you need anymore help just ask mate.

Dont think so, tailgate is rare here too but the reason is most likely that craftsmen rather have 2 doors so the forklift can load a pallet in the rear.. :)

Nice van.

How does it ride on 20"s. Can you carry much in there now?

Rides like a dream, even my father who regret everything bigger than 17" thought it was great :)

I've had 600kg above the axle for 900km with no problem, I also have car trailer that I drive about 2000km with each month without any problems.. :) thats why its a bit taller in the rear so it can handle some weight, would like stiffer blades in the rear or coilover instead of the dampers..
