Thom's 2008 Caddy 2K Build Thread

Post by trs888me »

Hi peeps

got my 08 caddy a year ago. done a few bits and pieces to it.

Its a 1.9 TDI 104 remapped to 148BHP by Sedox

when i first got it

Image

the new wheels before it was lowered

Image

new seats from a mk6 golf 1.4 FSI

Image

Lowered now sitting much better on 19s

Image
Image

changed headlights to black ones

Image
Image

better stance from the back

Image

just waxed

Image

decided to add some new internal light strips. this is taken at complete darkness (headlights are on)

Image

Trying out some new wheels

then this happened last month. a 5 litre paint can spilled in the back. luckily it was emulsion!

Current Mods:

Golf MK6 front seats
Black Headlights
Load Lights
Soundproofed bed and window panels
De-Wipered
LED side lights
LED number plate lights
HID Kit 5000K H7R
Lowered on coilovers by VMAXX
3M Carbon fiber di-noc b pillars

My plans are

Touran front end conversion
Touran Dash
Touran Door cards
Touran Centre console
Respray
Lower a little more
Colour coding wing mirrors, rubbing strips rear bumper
side rail cover and paint

The last set of wheels suit it best. What's lurking in the garage? MK1?

nice :D how low did you go on the vmaxx? looks like a decent workable height to me, not too low.

Thanks for the comments guys!

ianFRST - nice how low did you go on the vmaxx? looks like a decent workable height to me, not too low.

im around 10mm from the bottom on the fronts and the lowest setting VMAXX have on the rears. i want to go a bit lower but am worried about usability. if i go to the bottom, im only 74mm from the lowest part off the ground when theres only me and the work sttuff in it. its currently at 84mm or 95mm just with the load.

Royd - The last set of wheels suit it best. What's lurking in the garage? MK1?

yes but since theyre stretched, and the caddy isnt quite low enough it looks a little silly in real life!
also yes it is a MK1. been in the garage hiding for 5 years and now its time for it to come out and get fixed up!

henk155 - great pic, when you just had it waxed, those speedlines look the best i think.

thanks it did look awesome! i think the speedlines really suit it too but they were reps and too heavy! got some lighter 18s on now!

A little update.

Me and my brother did this before:Carbon fibre 3M di-Noc on the B pillars but have recently re-done it as we weent happy with the first attempt. this is the final product!

Now i decided it was time for a detail and some paint correction to get rid of some swirls and scratches.

After:

then decided to have a break half way through and painted my MK5 GTI Brakes Orange!

Now back on with the detailing

Second coat of wax:

I removed the last coat of wax at 1.30 AM and was shattered the next day as id finished polishing the side and waxed it after. Ill have to get some pics up once its had a wash and the sun is out!

Got one more little bit of painting to do but ill post pics of that when ive done it!

Did a bit of messing with VCDS the other day. came up with this:

Image

quad tail lights, top 2 still break lights too. set to 25% brightness

Image

indicators as side lights, at 15 or 20% i think.

what do you guys think?

Set your Brake lights to 17%, if you check in the measuring blocks you will find that your currently running them higher than the tail lights. ;)

Be careful with indicators on,I sat with my hazards on for 40mins and had to replace one headlamp unit as the heat generated fused the indicator bulb in the holder, when I went to vw they said happens regular on the caddy!Lol
