I'll be doing the Ironman Wales 2014, if your Caddy could spare £1 it'll all be going to Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
My absolute ideal is the 2.5T from a TT-RS and do a full quattro swap as well. But thats lottery win time. Its actually pretty swift A-B and reckon it could give my Golf R32 a run for its money if its not a wet road. But yes, it doesn't sound anywhere near as nice!

I wanna go 5 cylinder too. Been on the look out but they're rare as hens teeth at the moment. Your van looks gorgeous ya bastard

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
And the rarity makes the prices ridiculous. Think I've heard of engines going for £8k. Bit mad when you can get an R32 engine for £1500.

Dan, do you have the wiring instructions for the rear camera? Just wanted to know what the yellow wire near the camera is for ?

New rear lights and factory tint glass.

Now just waiting for the spoilers and mouldings to be polished and the gloss black parts to be painted plus the front bumper to be redone after a little imperfection when it baked.
I need the camera wiring instructions for Monday Dan incase you miss my previous post ;-)

My Caddy 'R' build thread
I did miss that request! Hmm, camera wiring. I have no clue. If it's not obvious and holding you up, if you could install the camera and run the wiring thru the door into the van I'll sort it another time. Once it's installed I can still get access to it by removing the inner door panel and that panel on the n/s.
The van is looking incredible. It looks so good it doesn't feel like mine yet!

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
It got to a point where I thought, I've come this far doing everything to the highest standards, why start taking shortcuts now! The rear tinted glass just looked a bit naff up close - in my eyes you can never get the tinting film to sit properly on the microdot areas and so you always end up with little air bubbles) and the new rear factory tinted glass wasn't exactly expensive. The original glass had to come out for painting so it made sense. And my n/s rear window had a large chip out of it where the previous owner had reversed into something (the doors had signs of damage too).

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
Matt - is the yellow wire near the camera for tapping into the reverse light circuit? I can't remember if there are any other connections to make ( I vaguely remember some at the other end but they will be black for 12v earth and red for fused permanent 12v from what I can find on the net)

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
True my maxi windows looked better even though my tinting company are probilly the best in the area and done a top job. It only annoys me when the sun is on it and you can see the heater lines

Looking good. Do you have the P/N for the glass as when I asked my local TPS they said it was just film!

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
I do. It's listed as grey which makes people think it's not the correct parts.
N/s 2k0 845 501 q nvb dark grey
O/s 2k0 845 502 s nvb dark grey
That's for my 2011 with barn doors obviously.

Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
Cheers Dan.
I have the camera loom right through to the head unit.
It has a red and black which will be 12v+ and negative. Not sure if the 12v is permanent or ignition live. I'll see if I can get the yellow to the rear light loom ;-)
