Re: Matt@Reflex's new Caddy project
Van is looking sweet Matt,
Yes I did look into the side strips, The strips are simply stuck on, However they have pins which locate into predrilled holes in the doors etc, purely to keep them aligned I think. If you are going for a smooth look you will need to fill and repaint these. I believe Matt is going to swap his for some touran sidestrips. these pins go in to all the existing holes bar one, which just needs to be snapped off.
If you look below you can see Matt's van with the strips removed, the side door has a groove which will need filling too And the rubber wheel was a godsend for removing the sticky tape goo

Wheels are here. 8.5x19 Lm replicas. I'm not sure if i'm keeping them this colour for now and matching a few detailing bits on the van to the grey.

I've been busy in my lunch breaks convering the back to take a tailgate rather than doors. I'm going to put grommets/clips into the original door hing bolt holes so i can change back to doors at a later date if i want

Today i have been doing the boring job of fitting my R32 Exuast back box that i had left over after selling the car

I didn't want to get my trousers dirty when loading and unloading my van so i am making some little surrounds to the bumper

And thats about it for now

Yes i plastic welded a couple of strips of plastic and then used the composite filler to shape it a bit.DADDY wrote:Mods look excellent, Wheels are lush dude![]()

To be fair, Matt you are crackers! Can't believe what you've done in the time frame. Wheels will look sweet, especially if you colour code them IMO. Please maintain your insane levels of progress!

I will try keep up the same level of progress. Its going well considering i can only work on it in my half hour lunch break and a couple of hours after work.
I think thats all the big jobs done so i just need to finish off the new roof/hinge panel and then its block the repairs, prime again and then into the paint shop for my younger brother to work his magic. Lazy git has got the 1st week of May off work so that will slow things a little
