Offroad Grey 2.0 TDI - Sportline bits added

Post by DutchTDI »

Hi guys,

Thought I'd better create a members gallery so I can whore all my pics here :) ...not many at the moment though as the modding hasn't really started yet.

To start with though a few pics of the factory armrest. I've just picked it up from the dealers as I wanted it colour coded to match my interior fabric. It's height adjustable too which is nice ;)

Paul

Your right Matt... its much better than we we get.

Irrespective looking forward to the rest of the pictures mate !!!!

Just had a look at the accessories brochure and see that 'robust' (Robust / Art Grey) is actually available on the caddy here in the Uk at extra cost. It looks different in the brochure to the photo above but I'm sure they are the same.

lol Jonesy!

Thanks guys, more to come as and when money allows.

The fabric is called "robust" and was an optional extra when ordering. I had the standard grey/coloured pattern cloth in my mk2 and hated it with a passion, so paid the extra this time round to avoid having to look at it every day :)

I hope to clean her this wekeend so more pics once she's more respectable. She looks like a 4*4 at the moment though and riding on the standard 16" steelies, so think the next mod will be some Eibach and BBS goodness.

Paul

Ricky - Yes the Robust fabric looks a lot darker in the brochure than it is in real life. I was expecting it to be quite dark and was a little surprised when I went to pick it up. It's still a much nicer option than the standard cloth though ;)

Thanks Jonesy. Not sure how quick my progress will be though as I've just paid for the van in full and have a Corrado VR6 to keep on the road too, so funds will be limited for Caddy mods - at least for the next couple of months :(

As above, looks like the one out of a touran or golf, I wonder how big a mod it is, if you already have aircon..

Thanks guys.

The dual zone 'climatronic' air-co is a factory option on pretty much all VW's so if your lucky you may find all the bits required at a breakers, then you could just buy the facia parts from VW I guess. It was a +/-900 euro option on top of the standard 'climatic' air-co option if I remember correctly.

As you can probably see (or not) nothing has happened on the modding front as of yet.
I'm in the UK early July for a friends wedding and plan on picking up some goodies then, like a sportline front bumber/spoiler & side rails. More to follow soonish. I'm still loving the VW Nuvolari alloys too and still plan to get a set when I'm back from the UK with the other bits along with some eibachs. I would rather do it all in one go rather than dribs and drabs as time is not exactly a luxury I have at the moment :(

We've just passed 10000 km's with no problems to speak of execpt a slight rattle from the rear doors which I've adjusted and has now gone :) It's such a comfy cruise to work now and it's nice to be able to have a little play every now and then. She can quite easily pull on any of the standard 2.0tdi golfs/passats/jettas etc. and we've had one little skirmish with a brand new 2.0tdi twin-turbo transporter - which was dead even from 60ish all the way to 220kph (on a private road of course ;) )

...becides time this is the other reason the Caddy hasn't had much attention yet.
I've owned her since 1997, originally a 2.9 vr6, but now she's running a stage 2 remapped 2.8 24v 4Motion engine on only 13,000 miles:
