also mate, what connectors did you need to connect it all up? is it just the pioneer adapter or do you also need the vw adapter to plug into it?

i used both adapters, there are adapters that go from a pioneer head unit direct to the VW but my head unit was not listed as one of the compatible models, it might work but i wasn't taking the risk

yes it's the SPH DA 120 and i am using it with an iPhone 6, I have only had it for a day but i like it, it's easy to use, the touch screen works as well as the iPhone
and the sound quality is better than the standard head unit that i pulled out, i don't have a MFSW

Is the tailgate from a Touran the same weight as the tailgate from a Caddy?

If so, I'd like this mod on my Caddy
Tiguan 5N2 (2.0 TSI (CCZD) 4Motion, REMAP 158 KW/211PS)
Ex Caddy 2k (e.o.2004) (1.9 TDI(BJB), REMAP 103KW/145PS) Ravenna Blue
Passat 3C heated front seats, Premium 3D Color Cluster

mate i just tried to install my stereo and nothing is working. i was hoping it was going to be as simple as connecting the VW adapter to the car, and the poineer adapter to that and then plug in the stereo. However when i do that nothing happens. no power through the stereo at all. Am i missing something?

Did you disconnect the battery before messing with the wiring? If not you may have just blown the fuse for the radio. Granted is only a small chance but worth checking.

You will have two power feeds a yellow (permanent live) and a red (ignition live) the red cable will have to be connected to the fusebox via an add-a-fuse cable Image
