So today I finished pulling out the vinyl & 3mm plywood I put in the van a couple of months ago. I was not at all happy with them and the finish was just not up to standard.

I have now fitted 9mm plywood and 8mm laminate flooring on the top. Just need to get some edging to finish it off.

Please excuse the quality of the photos. I'm using an original HTC One M7 that seriously suffers from a known camera issue. Fortunately today I broke my screen so I now have an excuse to get a new phone.

Nice! did you leave the plastic panels in and build up to them or take them out and then put back in on top?
do you have anything under the ply?
also how did you get the correct shape for the ply?

i need to get this done ASAP but think im gonna have to pay someone as i think it is a bit out of my comfort zone.

I left the side plastic panels in place and removed the one at the back doors.

The plywood and laminate goes right up to the back plastic piece so once it was all cut and laid I put the back piece back on. There is a very small, maybe 3mm gap between the end of the laminate flooring and the plastic piece. I want to fit some sort of edging here and by the sliding door just to tidy it up a bit.

As you can see from my previous flooring attempt here http://www.caddy2k.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 81#p196181 I have Dynomat then some plastic insulation under the plywood. I have also used some 3mm plywood battens to fill some of the low points on the floor.

To get the shape of the plywood I used the original genuine VW rubber cargo mat as a template. All the plywood and laminate flooring was cut with a jigsaw and my trusty Dremel.

Sorry for the delay. These are the rings I brought http://r.ebay.com/Zre6iY

Fitted some chrome door handles and window switches this weekend. I also replace my mirror joystick thing with a chrome/black one.

And here is a nice reflection shoot after today's wash.

I also wired up some footwell lights today. Wasn't thinking and wired them to come on with both interior and headlights. I don't want them on all the time the headlights are on so will rewire them to come on with the door and interior lights instead. These are the ones I am using if anyone is interested http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/qFeUzN3fA?af=192682711

Dont think my BCM is high enough spec to have footwell lights. I will investigate further though. Thanks

Looking forward to finishing the installation of the footwell lights tomorrow.

Also time to rotate the wheels but will give them an off van wash and seal first.

Will be fitting these too.

Time for my quarterly wheel rotation. Wheels off for a deep clean and seal.
Image

Image

The one on the left has been cleaned. The one on the right was last cleaned about 3 weeks ago. There is not a great deal of difference between the two. I have been using Carpro Hydro2 as a post wash wheel sealant lately. It's great stuff and the brake dust pretty much just washes off with high pressure water.

Over the last couple of months the jet from my windscreen washers has been getting less efficiency. Two days ago they stopped working at all. You could hear the pump but there was no water coming out.

This is probably why...
Image

Thought I would make a temporary repair. Plastic tube is from a soap dispenser and used a couple of cable ties.
Image

The break has occurred right where the hose clips to the bonnet.
Image

I think I will get a smaller piece of house to fit inside the original then just seal it up.

In the meantime the washers are working better than ever. Image
