Quick get a video up so we can hear the exhaust note. I'm thinking of getting one myself if I cannot get one made locally.
Thanks.

I need to do the exact same, how hard was it to remove the turbo and did you have any prob realigning actuator rod when putting everything back?
Mine keeps on going into limp mode when i go onto the motorways, soo annoying.

Re: RE: Re: What did you do to your van today?
Hi I cheated as the engine is out of caddy, but you needs some multi spline sockets, a 12mm socket for exhaust manifold nuts... When turbo was on bench I only removed the one nut on actuator rod so it was easy to re fit, you need to remove the actuator stop screw as it blocks one of the 10mm headed bolts, this you need to take note of how far it passes through the body.. Then remove it, this needs an Allen key and a 10mm spanner, once you have removed all the bolts I found I needed to soak the joint with releasing fluid for a good hour, I then kept tapping the body with a nylon hammer until it came apart, I used a air engraver to mark both faces to make reassembly easier, when it's apart you can see a small roll pin which is a locator but it's easier to mark outside with a center punch or something, if you turn the vanes ring it will lift out and there is a ring underneath with little locator spacers,I removed all this and de coded it, the actual vanes don't come out and are pressed in, they can be removed but I think when being remanufactured... I then just re assembled, there is only one way to put it back just take plenty of photosvwcaddytdi wrote:

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Whilst you've got it out you might as well replace all the bearings and thrust components. I'm sure you'll be able to find a service kit on eBayvwcaddytdi wrote:

Check for any shaft motion as this is an indication of bearing failure which will cause the over boost issue (limp mode)
If the bearings do fail you will need a new turbo so for the sake of 20 mins (possibly longer if your not use to working on turbos) and I'm guessing around £30 it's worth it. You should also be able to get all the torque values online or in the service kit.
