I’m looking forward to seeing one when it’s had some mods done. It’ll be interesting to see if this one gains a following as the 9k and 2k have.
I’m also looking forward to seeing what mods people come up with too as I know there’s some very clever people on here.

Just look at the photos which I have posted. I would rip off both bumpers and mod these for sure. And the siderail should be powdercoated.

Looks quite well in the black, the designs really growing in me. although the side rail sticks out like a sore thumb

The only good thing I can see - and it is only a good thing in this one case - The sides have the recesses so you can cut and fit side windows to an SWB van more easily and neatly.
Most would probably prefer the smooth sides of the SWB 2K van.

Fugly rail. That rail is so in need of a black coating.

It still blows my mind that VW spend an absolute fortune developing the bodywork so it looks more muscular and sporty which in their mind will attract different customers who are going to use them in place of a car perhaps, or for recreational purposes, and then stick on a lump of industrial looking metal. Could they not spend a few extra hours coming up with a better sliding door mechanism?! That monstrosity is going to put off the very people they're trying to attract. It makes me angry every time I see it. Such lazy design.

I agree Dan. That side rail is going to be impossible to hide without major modifications. It’s a shame as they’ve hidden it on the transporter.
