Re: Toffee delights
Thanks all. It’s always the little things which people don’t notice, that I get most excited about.
He has Hef, I’m very happy with the finished items.

I’d have thought it would work. I don’t know anything about the wiring on a pre- facelift but as long as there is a Cluster Can and your gateway supports it, it’ll work, engine makes no difference.
The hardest part fitting to a caddy with a Touran dash is making the housing and getting it to look right. Due to the width of the gauges is isn’t possible to fit in the top trim, without it looking dreadful and poorly fitted and/or loosing the function of the top box.

Very minor change, but one that makes a huge improvement for my head! Replaced the awful bright orange bonnet latch for a black one (part number 1K8823186F). Gave it a little polish prior to fitting.

Re: Toffee delights
You must have had some amount of cardboard boxes lying around just before you started all the work. The bonnet release looks way better.

Ha ha yeah it was a nightmare to be honest. I had stuff everywhere; my house, my dads house and my mates houses.

Lister79 honestly mate I think I’ve said this a million times but you never seem to surprise me there’s always something happening with your van and every little detail you add always smashes it out the park and no wonder it’s won All these trophies and magazine features it’s one heck of a van and will always be my favourite on these forum. Re: Toffee delights
Started cleaning up some engine parts today, so that I can get rid of the oxidised Aluminium parts. Started with the engine mounting bracket.
Cleaned it, painted it silver, then sanded out the casting marks on the front face and polished it up.
I’ll be doing the same process on the spare alternator, air con pump and engine mount I have. With it being used year round I’ll only be polishing the faces I can get at (for re-polishing, the rest I’ll just leave re-painted.
The last time I had the metal polisher out was probably around 15 years ago, I remember why now.
Finished

In work
