I mounted Touran Seats today. Everything was straight forward. Only the airbag connector had to be switched.
No lights came up. But I am going to check everything with vcds again to be sure.
The seats are much better than the original ones.
I only need to get the heating cables somewhere. Any ideas?
Changed the front suspension wishbones today and give the van a service changed all the filters even the cabin filter which I never new I had until last year that was obviously the original one put in when the van was registered back in 2013 but all done now till next year

Finished carpet lining the main parts of the back today. Replaced the rubber floor up front with new black carpets including behind the seats. So much nicer inside now.
Ran the power, ground, new speaker and tweeter cables in. Just have to remove the head unit tomorrow and splice in to speaker wires then I’ll make a mdf mount to sit in the rear void and get the amp and crossovers mounted.
Had my first attempt at rust repair on the outside of the boot lid using a spray called Brunox. I was not very careful with sandpaper and scratched the paint under the VW emblem Will touch that up later but leave most of the repaired areas as is since it will be hidden by the number plate holder and light cover trim. There are design flaws with Caddy mk3 boot lid/barn door number plate cover trims as their plastic becomes brittle and cracks. They also vibrate, hitting the paint and exposing affected areas to rust. Also, the foam padding underneath the license plate holder collects moisture which also results in rust. I need to do the inside of the boot lid next. It is even worse
Finished installing new hertz components, sound deadened the doors. Went and got a sub for behind the passenger seat, managed to squeeze a 10 inch audison one in there. Ran the remote for the sub and mounted it under the esp button. Refitted the bulkhead. Really impressed with the sound of it all
Been getting started on a small conversation, so I bought an old VW Touran, whipped the seats out and gave them a real scrub, and jetwashed them down. Fitted the bases, waiting for them to dry so the new seats can go in.
Over the weekend I fit a leisure battery under the passenger seat, with a split charge system. Almost ready for insulation and carpet.
Received my air duct parts today from VW , Installed them as soon as I got home from work , I feel more and more complete er the car is now almost complete as it would have been from factory. I'm going to order the wiper caps for it soon , apparently these cars don't come with them from factory but it can be added so ill do it , that and the engine cover if I can figure out which one fits and if I can find them .
Missing 1 important item though , the plastic undercarriage engine splash shield . Can I get this from another type of car or does it have to come from the Caddy model that I have?
Still a long way to go to get it to the level that makes me comfortable , but im getting there slowly .
Still new to VW
Still getting used to the smell of a diesel engine .
