Managed to pick up a pair for my Maxi from a scrap yard for £20.
Tips for picking up at a scrapyard.
Remove it yourself it's cheaper and much less likely to be damaged.
Take your own tools. Most scrapyards don't lend out tools and probably won't have what you need anyway.
If you are lucky enough to have a scrapyard nearby then it's worth a few trips to see if they have a Caddy, the stock of scrapped cars is always changing and they will have a Caddy with side rails at some point.
The side rails will be one of the first things to go on a scrapped car so be prepared when you go.
You will need a splined bit to remove a genuine rail. The bolts are shallow and can round off easily, I had to drill one out. So take a drill with a selection of bits, just in case with you.
With the bolts removed the rail is designed to slide forward towards the front of the car on the clips. This will take some doing. Have some plastic trim removal tools to hand as they can be useful to lever the middle clips.
The actual rails have the clip brackets for the cover. So worth picking these up at the same time.
Keep any clips that fall off or are left behind on the van if you can
