Re: What did you do to your van today?
Phew !!
I have been making brackets for the dual sweep Touran wiper retrofit while waiting for the electrical plugs to arrive. Today the first of the three plugs needed for the adapter cable arrived and with a same type old plug as the motors use (I should have got the real plug with the unit from eBay as shown in the listing photo, but it wasn't included on arrival so the nice seller sent me one from another part that fits) I made up half the cable so I could at least test the LHS-Master motor.
And it works beautifully - What a relief.
Last few parts will hopefully arrive soon ...

Dreamed of it coming back. (Away for part one of conversion)
Imagined the summer and driving in beautiful places.

Re: What did you do to your van today?

Side rail finally fitted thanks to darkside for sourcing me a correct rail with the clips in as couldn’t source one that would come any time soon.
Just need to sort those now grey side strips, anyone know anyone who supply’s them for a MK4 painted?

More folding ...
Made 2 "production" pieces from the master plan !
Tried out the 3mm spacers for fit - OK (hopefully)
Ordered some Sika Primer just to be on the safer side.
During all this I have noticed that my Mk4 wiper assembly fit is quite a bit off centre with reference the scuttle cover holes.
The Touran RHS assembly is also off but differently !?!
Hopefully my mirror-mimicking of the Caddy brackets will be within tolerance levels ?

Re: What did you do to your van today?
I ordered a load of parts from TPS,
ball studs for the engine cover, under bonnet insulation pad, wipers,
They list a textured bulkhead with glass, not seen that before, my van doesn’t have a bulkhead so I’m intrigued

Today I had another walk round it and tried to see what else I needed to order for it.
Swapped the rear wiper blade over, re-wired my auxiliary wiring from the battery post to the engine bay fuse box instead which is a bit cleaner

My roof shelf is going to be in and out like a 1980’s chart topper so all roof and visor screws are out and replaced with rivnuts

Powerfold mirrors just need to get them coded in so the folding works and don’t have to press up for down

And ...
Finished the adapter cable now the second plug turned up. Tested with both motors connected and all seems good so far !
Clamp meter shows only 22.4mv on 10mv/A range (if I am reading things correctly !? No load as the wiper arms are slowly travelling around Europe
DE to Latvia, then UPS back to DE, and hopefully arriving here tomorrow.
