After some advice from "Stan the man" I got my new seats fitted. Thanks Stan
and got my new wheels put on.
First important mods ticked off.

Slathered the side strips in Owatrol to see if it helps. So far. nope. Looks like its going to be repaint time at some point.

Spilt 5 litres of paint in the back last night

Luckily it stayed on the rubber mat and didn’t leak through the bulkhead into the cab!
Was also water based too, so wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. Major clean up when I got home at 10:30 last night. Neighbours must think I killed someone. Only killers wash their cars that late at night!

At least it seems like you got away with it if the cops haven’t already visited you by now xD

I decided that the 1k brake paint I put on my front golf mk5 gti calipers wasn’t going to be durable enough. So once again I stripped them down completely with a wire brush and some elbow grease.
Got to bed way too late last night.

Finally a productive weekend.
Managed to mount the last polyurethane bushing in the rear. Now both LH and RH leaf springs and shackles have their PU bushings mounted.

Painted the golf gti calipers with 2k paint, and did let it harden a few days before assembly.
Dismounted the caddy original front brakes, but not without struggle. Had to drill out(3+1) screws to get the brake discs and what was left of the protective shields off.

Then assembled the freshly painted R32 calipers. Very pleased with how the retaining clip with stickers and 2k clear came out.Image

That looks great, not something I'd thought about doing but definitely considering it now!

Thanks! Is was completely bolt on, so no issues there. The real struggle was to get rid of the old and scuffed up power coat.

I'm a relatively new owner of a MK3, had mine a couple of months and had been part converting it. It's had a braking problem which appears to be the servo. Place I've taken it to says it's a pretty involved job, as the servo is in an absolute pain to get to and recommended I take it to someone with more experience than themselves. Anyone know of anyone round the Reading way who might be able to take a look?

I'd ask in the braking sub forum, but I don't have permissions as yet!
