I will be changing out the barrel as mine is getting worse and a new key will not turn in it at all.
Have had a look on YouTube for info as has been sugested on a MK5 golf. Now that looks like pre facelift. The Haynes manual is ok describing it but should I be looking at MK6 Golf or?..
The stalks are one piece.
And the barrel looks like this I think
And the part number given by TPS is 107905855CF
Any tips etc much appreciated. Will do a how to on it.
MK3.5 ignition barrel change.

Hi Nick, Was that part enough to do the job? The ignition barrel on my 2010 Mk3 caddy first was a bit sticky and is now turning 360 degrees with no result!

If you look on the face around where the key goes in. Is there a small hole?
The ones that I have done (several years ago)
You had to put the key in, insert a rod into the hole, slowly turn the key and the rod would go into the hole and that would release the barrel.
