Just brought a 1.9 tdi dsg , Central locking issue

Hi all, Back with my second caddy, Just brought a 1.9 tdi dsg , Been looking for one for a while, Sorting a few teething problems at the moment and tidying up a few bits of bodywork, Main thing bugging me at the moment is the central locking, It just opened with the key when I got it and would only lock with the fob , Changed the battery today and re synced it to the vehicle, It now seems to work and lock and unlock but is what I would describe as lazy as you have to be really close to the van for it to work But surprisingly it works when you hold it against your head ( As shown on top gear lol) anyone explain this ? Would like it to work from distance as it should but at a loss, Also the door card pop up knob on the passenger side is none existent ( yet to look into this) was wondering if this has anything to do with it? but locking works from button on drivers door , Just want it to work as it should, Any help would be greatly appreciated

How long were your searching for a dsg van? As im currently in the same situation. Cheers.
