Hi All,

Fairly recent owner of a Caddy, I have a Maxi Life 2011.

My only job today apart from avoiding the rain was to reconnect the rear ABs sensor, after forgetting it when I changed the rear pads on Monday.

Still working through the demons that came with the van, otherwise enjoying the experience

I tried to install my passat b7 (2012) front seats to my 2011 caddy. But they didn't fit at all. The railings are different. So, bye bye heated seats. 😭

?

Don't know the B7 seats specifically, but most VW seats will fit a Caddy if you use a Touran seat base instead of the std. Caddy base.
The rails are normally about 10mm wider than Caddy/Polo/Ibiza/Fabia rails - The Touran bases mount to the Caddy using the same fitting holes (indeed Touran bases are used for Caddy Mk4 Comfort seats).

Some people have simply drilled new holes in the rails (or seat bases ?)

Spent a worthwhile couple of hours this afternoon pulling out the BG wiring additions.

Glad I did as on top of the isolator board and relay it had half a hands free kit still ratting around behind the dash and worst of all at least 3 permanent and switched lives from the sub-fuseboard just cut-off and hanging bare in the breeze in the rear :shock:

Touran rails mentioned sound like a good plan - it sounds like they should fit most VW seats right?

I am now looking for used touran seats with heating and this folding mechanism. Could take a while...

@m-racer

You probably just need the seat bases from a Touran and then you
should be able to fit the Passat seats !?

All assuming the Passat seats are just a bit wider rails and M10 bolts ... Like most VAG seats.

Installed a mains hook up ready for this season’s camping adventures

Managed to fit a mini consumer unit, leisure battery charger and additional 13A socket behind the driver’s seat, with the 16A connection under the bonnet.

Thanks for the information. I made a quick search and these consoles are more expensive than a complete seat. 🤨😃
