You can easily deactivate it with vcds, if you don't have the program then use the AliExpress button

Not sure how scientifically sound this test is but the bloke speaks with a German accent so it's probably legit Image

I personally think there's absolutely no chance of it not increasing wear.

@LolloElbarto
Not on later models you can't. I have VCDS but only the older vehicles work for disabling stop start. Mine is a 2015 PQ35 B+ - unless you know a way on that model of gateway/ central electrics.

I have just tried using Obdeleven (I'm on holiday at the moment) and it only served to shut down all internal power, blower fans, power socket, everything. When I unticked the box for stop start deactivation, power came back to everything again.

Obdeleven say that bit is for the stop start deactivation but it doesn't do that on mine. Central electrics 09 / Byte 26 bit 7.

@Javito
That's a very informative video and shows the stupid ideas come from idiots in government, not engineers. I'm getting rid of mine asap.

via obdeleven, carista you can't work, I managed with vcds my van is from 2019, I entered: 19: can-gateway, long adaptation 0A, select 13, the old value will be 002000, change it to D02000

Ok thanks. Where did you find the information on this?

Also your van is MIB gateway, mine is PQ35 B+, not sure if the adaptation is the same.

That little gadget from AliExpress is a joy. It defaults to off on start up but you can turn it on if you need it. The little tray behind the buttons lifts up at the back, then slides out backwards so don't pry the front up. You'll break the tabs. They are slotted into holes at the edge nearest you.
