Finally got round to fitting a hand brake cover and a new button as they were missing when I got the van.
Been on the to do list forever.

Finally got round to fitting my Touran Xenon’s…

Need to run them for a bit with some silica gel sachets to dry out the moisture from storage

Waiting on darkness to go for a drive and see if there’s any difference from the old halogen lamps.

Sound proofing/insulation continues… have I gone overboard?
Found some Touran carpets and centre console on the local scrap yard. It was really freezing when I stood there in the yard and disassembled the parts
hope it will be worth it in the end.Sent from my Nokia 3310

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@Poffe Nice. Looks much more insulated than Caddy Life from the factory. I hope you got the recycled material OEM insulation under the Touran carpets as well. I wonder if there will be any centre console fitment issues with the extra layer added. The carpets have to hook onto the central air vents and the console also screws into them.
And my interior transformation is complete. I hit the jackpot and found a black leather adjustable armrest at a local breakers' yard. They sold it to me separately which is rare because most ask you to buy the whole Touran interior.

Yes, i did get the insulation as well. Since I removed it from the car myself, and it was frozen... I got the centre console and the carpets, with insulation, very cheep. Paid around 18£. Unfortunately not a leather armrest, but grey textile. But fot that money I guess i can afford to reapolster the armrest.raitis wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 12:35 pm I hope you got the recycled material OEM insulation under the Touran carpets as well. Was it very tight fit? Maybe I should take some of or atleast testfit before I continue.

Got some tyres mounted to the new bola alloys picked up last week for the van.

Just need to give them a good clean after the visit to the tyre fitters and then ceramic coat and get on the van. Should make a big difference looks wise hopefully.

@Adwano. Looking forward to seeing your gold Bolas on mate. I’m having thoughts about new wheels and like the idea of gold/bronze.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Hoping the colour goes well the blackberry, used to have a grey transporter with similar colour wheels and looked awesome. Hoping to get them on this weekend and get some pics up.
The wheels are so light, come across bola doing a super light series wheel, think each one is only about 8.5kg or so.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Fixed the issue of it attempting to steer into oncoming traffic
Had the tracking done on Friday and on the drive home, noticed it was pulling slightly to the right. Went back and told them, so they had another look but couldn't find anything wrong. I thought maybe it was just me being overly sensitive to the new geometry (not the the tracking was that far out tbh).
Fast forward to this morning, get an ESP error pop up on the dash. Plugged it in and scanned for codes, to be greeted with "Steering angle sensor mechanical failure" - bugger! Decided to check the measuring blocks and it was about 17 degrees out, so then I performed the basic settings procedure and the steering limit stop adaptation and was very relieved to see the DTC clear. Took it for a quick drive to check it wouldn't come back on and there's no more pulling to the right!
