Axle Centre Plate

Afternoon All,
Best place for axle centre plates and wobble blocks (Thinking about making this up myself, as its just a bolt and some material)?

In general there are two types of centralising plates you may need, depending on your leaf springs. So, make sure you know which type you have before purchasing centralising plates. Few people made this mistake by purchasing the wrong ones.

I remember reading this somewhere now you say it. Do you know what the differences are? I will have a look before I order.

Basically, you have either a bolt that goes through the leaf spring or a locating pin which is on the bottom side of the leaf spring. As a rule of thumb pre-facelift will have a bolt and Caddy 4 will have a locating pin. But the facelift could be either, so best to check.

A lot of kits on eBay for £35-40 delivered. Could make them myself but for ease and speed just going to buy them.

Hi Giddy,
I would assume this is the locating pin type?

Looks like it is. In this case you can drill an offset hole in the bottom plate and position your axle exactly where you need it to be. Pin diameter is 15mm.
Or you can get a ready made bottom plates.

So basically modify the plate currently fitted? Is there a calculation on the movement i.e. move the wheel 15mm back, drill a new hole 15mm towards the back of the vehicle?

Yes, if you need to move the wheel 15mm, then drill a hole with a 15mm offset towards the front (doesn't really matter, coz plates are symmetrical). But you have to fit them with the offset hole facing towards the front. It will make sense as soon as you'll start doing it

So if i understand correctly if you have pin you need to drill a hole only on one plate, but it you have screw you also would need to drill hole or wide it also on third plate that goes last, the bottom one?
