Full electric and Heated Audi A5 S-line.
Not a simple fit as the seats rails are about 15mm wider than Caddy seats.

Hi.

The Red plug is for the electirc movement, thick brown wire is Earth and the 12v goes the thick red/black stripe wire. I wired mine striaght off the battery through a 30A fuse.

The Green plug is for heating, the 2 thick wores are the heating element brown=earth and the other +12v, i believe the 2 thinner wires are the temp sensor but i didnt use them... I just have mine on a simple on/off switch powered by a switched live, which then switch a relay for each seat.

Ahh thanks for that - really appreciate it - Sounds soo simple and doable the way youve explained it

Stan the Man has also given me a reply in regards to this, I shall get back to him and see what his method is, believe he will guide me in the route of the OEM way then probably make my mind up after that.

My initial thought - as always will be to try the closest method to OEM - as long as I dont break the bank - but its for my back so I really dont want to skimp out on it as I spend alot of time in it while working

Thank you for your response, pictures and the small description you have given me doesn't sound like alot to think about and shall definitely weigh it up

Thanks, Kuldeep

Porsche reclining carbon buckets as fitted to the Boxster Spyder and a few GT2/3 versions of the 911. Custom bases on Caddy consoles and retrimmed in alcantara with custom embroidered logo.

No worries OEM looks better, i was just too inpatient and wanted them working in the cold weather.
One advantage of the way i done it is they get very warm, my TT seats even on highest setting are nowhere near as good, lovely if ur back is aching.

Cracking pair of seats, probably my favourites, did they fit straight onto the caddy rails?

I will have to do a bit of jiggery but you can fit mostly all vag group seat in your van. Golf seats polo and A1 seat will fit straight on your bases.

Do you mean my ones? If so then yes and no. When you take the caddy seats out there is a H shaped base left bolted to the floor of the van. You can use these with a little modification to mount the GTI Seats. The only problem is that the bolt holes on the GTI seat rails are about 20mm longer front to back and about 10mm wider than the bolt holes in the frame. I did wonder if you could just take the rails or part of them off the caddy seats and put them on the GTI ones but they are different shapes and mount onto the seats different so no.

So you need to modify the caddy H Shape bases. However rather then have to drill new holes, I found that the 4 larger Diameter holes that allow you access the unbolt the base from the van floor, line up with a bit of wobbling with the 4 holes in the GTI rails. The only problem is that the holes in the bases are about the size of a 10p and there are no captive nuts under them for the bolts of coarse. So I made up some large washers out of some 2mm flat bar steel and put a nut on the other side.

Then all you need to do is bolt the bases into the van, then bolt the seats in.

Seemingly Touran bases are a straight fit If you want to make it easy.

Great seats though and compared to the standard ones, you can sit much lower with the height adjuster.

Thanks Matt for such a thorough reply :D

I've been looking for some of these seats but struggling to find a good set at a decent price locally, they are either knackered or very expensive.I'm in no rush yet so fingers crossed some will turn up. Can't believe how cheap some people are picking seats up on here cos there are none where I live

Cheers

Couple of tips. First know roughly what you want and have a realistic budget. Put eBay app on your phone, and get your salvage numbers. Also look on shpock and gumtree. You have to do some regular digging. On ebay a lot have make offer on them. So make a offer, some people don’t mind splitting the seats lots of time you don’t need the door cards and rear seats. Never be afraid to make a offer you might be surprised, they can only say no. I’ve been looking every night as you can put in newly listed in ebay so once you have gone thought millions of seats each night it will only be 10-15 or so.

Also know what style or make you like basically in general most VAG seats fit, you just might have to source Touran bases that’s all, or drill a couple of holes for them to fit. Good luck it took me 3 months to find something I liked. Image
