I didn’t do it to the caddy itself but ready for the caddy…

I’m aiming to fit rear touran seats in the back so the caddy if a family van lol, found and bought a very cheap full conversion but when it came the rails was absolutely botched and lots of broken plastics. (Buy cheap by twice?? :? )
So I’ve been searching for a breaking touran to see what I can salvage and I finally found one in a local scrap yard yesterday, so I offered to pay the scrap yard for me to take the rails out…. What a mistake!! was way harder than I thought haha! Back rail I got out in 30 minutes, front rail took me over 3 hours, went through pack of grinder blades and at least 5 fully charged 5Ah batteries 😂 blood, sweat and very close to tears!!
But I managed to get both rails out, all new plastics and a few more little bits all for just £30, job well done but not again

Just had a sachs SRE clutch with organic disc, new callipers, full discs and pads, brake fluid change and oil change as it has been neglected a bit recently. Feels like a different van and actually stops now

She was a bit pedestrian, so took her for a run, a bit more sprightly now.

I acquired a touran dash last week and as per usual the rubberised coatings had scratches all over them. The dash itself was in quite decent Nick though. I’m no expert at wrapping but thought I would give it a go. After dissolving the old coating off with oven cleaner and a quick cleanup I made a start at wrapping the trip pieces in carbon fibre wrap.
Oh, and I found a screw in my new tyre

I resurrected my Caddy this week after been parked up for over a year in a shed. It has only 185k Kms. Was going to buy a new van but decided to stick with what I have. With the prices in Ireland you really need to spend 12k to get into anything fairly fresh.
Job 1,
New CVRT test, passed with flying colours…tester commented it had only done 60km since the last one.

Job 2.
Fit door mirror cover and sliding rail end cap, both parts were cheaper from VW than anywhere else.

Job 3.
I have a 6 speed 02m box that I picked up in 2019, ordered a new SACHs DMF today. Found all the parts with the exception of the golf mk4 starter which has gone missing. Can’t wait to get this fitted.

Job 4.
Bought some Touran xenons from EBay

Job 5
New monroe shocks and springs ordered, will fit Passat alloy hubs and arms and new wheel bearings

Job 6
Looking for a 1.9tdi touran to get parts for fitting aircon

Job 7.
Gave it a decent machine polish, the deep black pearl came up well, must get a touch up pen and then give it another polish.

Finally got round to connecting my reverse camera, image looks reasonably clear so it’ll give me a fighting chance to park a little closer to stuff without the usual ‘nudge’ 🙈
